The first meeting of the annual northwest rivalry went down in Boise Saturday night. After 10 bouts, the two teams were tied 18-18.  Each team won five matches, with BSU jumping out to a 14-0 lead and the Beavers coming back to lead 18-14 going into the last match.  Senior and #1 ranked Andrew Hochstrasser picked up a major decision to salvage a draw for the #2 ranked Broncos against #22 Oregon State.

BSU has a technical fall by #1 ranked Adam Hall, as well as a majot by Hochstrasser. OSU picked up majors by Colby Covington, Chad Hanke, and Clayton Jack. BSU wrestled without Kirk Smith, returning NCAA finalist. Oregon State did not have 10th ranked Michael Mangrum in at 141.  Even so, Levi Jones of Boise State needed every point he could get to fight off a tough Beaver in Garrett Drucker at 141, 9-8 in the evening's first bout.

These two will renew their rivalry on January 30th in Corvallis, Oregon.
