Stephen Neal talks about ensuring the future of Cal State Bakersfield as a wrestling program.
Stephen Neal didnt necessarily come from a powerhouse school but made a huge impact on the sport of wrestling. Stephen Neal was born and raised in sunny San Diego California. He decided to wrestle at Cal State Bakersfield where he won 2 NCAA titles.
One of his titles was won over the furture WWE star Brock Lesnar out of Minnesota.
After winning a world title in 1999 he tried out for the US Olympic team only to be beat by Kerry McCoy.
After the 2000 defeat he retired from Freestyle wrestling and joined the New England Offensive Line.
